Surprise: Government Reviews 20 Stalled Real Estate Projects… Different Solutions for Each Case The relevant government agencies have begun reviewing approximately 20 files on stalled real estate projects, in preparation for determining the mechanisms for handling each project and developing solutions to complete the stalled projects. Engineer Tarek Shukri, President of the Real Estate Development Chamber and Chair of the Economic Committee in the House of Representatives, said that stalled projects will not be handled through a single mechanism; rather, each case will be studied separately based on the reasons for the delay, the status of the land, and the percentage of completion. He explained that in some cases, a new real estate developer may be allowed to step in to complete the project, particularly if the land is already developed and the current developer has been unable to complete the development work.
